Mirena Lawsuit

This intrauterine device (IUD) was placed into the uterus to be used as birth control in women all across America, but what they did not know was that this IUD was associated with severely life-altering side effects. Bayer, manufactures of the popular IUD, put on in-home presentations to help along the marketing efforts for its simplistic program that targeted women that were too busy to maintain daily methods; also Mirena claimed that the IUD would increase sex drive, when the opposite was in fact the truth.

In Dec. 2009, the FDA sent a warning letter to Bayer concerning its marketing plan; this letter also took issue with Bayer for overstating the effectiveness of Mirena while simultaneously downplaying the extreme risks associated with it.

Some cases have reported uterine perforation, though these are the most obscure, they are also the most severe. In some cases Mirena has punctured the uterine wall and traveled into the abdominal cavity, this can cause serious damage to the bladder and intestines if not detected immediately. Ask a claims specialist about more information on filing a Mirena lawsuit claim.
